The Hunter's Barasaur is a fantastic, detailed piece of art that imagines a colossal, cretaceous creature rising from the earth beneath Hunter's Bar, against the backdrop of Sheffield City centre and Ranmoor in the distance. Hunter's Bar is an area that holds a special place in the heart of many who have lived in Sheffield. Famously, The Arctic Monkeys mentioned Hunter's Bar in their song, ‘Fake Tales of San Francisco’. With a village like feel, it's an area with its own unique personality that inspires affection in visitors and residents alike. With its landmarks, from the eponymous tollgate on Hunter's Bar roundabout and the Victorian school to the Porter Brook weaving between the houses, from the small independent shops along Sharrowvale Road to the steep rows of terrace houses leading down from the hill. An eclectic mix of people have lived, worked or studied there and they all treasure this vibrant area.
